Hunger Games' Katniss and the Tracker Jackers

So here's Katniss treed under a swarm of tracker jackers. Haven't read Hunger Games? You probably have no idea what I'm talking about. I barely know what I'm talking about. I read all three books in four days a few months ago, so forgive me if I got some of the details wrong.

My brother told me The Hunger Games was like Ender's Game. It's not.

My Spirit Animal

Sketching this and that I think I've discovered my spirit animal. At least what my current spirit animal resembles. Those chipper birds? Nope. I'm pretty sure I'm channeling the globby blob of an elephant seal. That expression is so me. Currently. My house has been hard hit with the flu. Yuck. When we recover, if we recover, I'm hoping to fulfill my promises of the appearance of color. Maybe in time for spring?

Almost every night I dream of the ocean. Maybe that's one reason I think of sleep as something I sink into. I know my babies dream. I've read that brain scans show we begin to dream before birth. I wonder what such young consciousness deams of.

Valentine's Under Painting

I was at a Valentine's dance and I spotted this girl in the hall, leaning against a wall. She was wearing a big puffy coat (close enough to a sweater right IF?) and she had tied a balloon to her head. I rarely do this, but I asked her if I could take her picture because I thought it'd make such a fun picture. I expected her to be shy about it but instead she said SURE! and gave me a great smile. Happy Valentines!

My son loves tales of foxes and rabbits but he can never decide whose side he's on. He'll cheer for the fox til the rabbit is in mortal danger, then reverse his support and cheer for the rabbit's escape.
